When Leviton equipment is used to positively influence someone’s life, it reminds us of the transformative nature of home automation. Whether it’s simply aging in place applications, or helping those who have disabilities, Leviton automation eases daily operations for everyone.

A particular project was coordinated by Alloys Distribution and C2 Automation, funded by the Australian Transport Accident Commission to provide residential automation functionality to six assisted living apartments. Leviton’s range of integrated automation solutions were specified to enable increased access and mobility for residents, and higher levels of monitoring and service for caregivers. For instance, residents have the ability to use the scene “Arrive Home” – where Leviton’s controller opens doors, turns lights on, adjusts temperature, lifts blinds and logs the event with the caregiver so they know the resident is home.

This new Australian article highlighting Leviton solutions reminds us, “If you provide really good quality housing that is well designed, in a good location and incorporates technology, it fosters independence". Further, it highlights how residents actually benefit from the equipment.

“Thanks to her iPad app connected to her home's locks, air conditioning and blinds, she could let visitors in without moving from her bed, the couch or her chair. On one occasion she was able to let a support worker into her apartment from her hospital bed.”
