What room will you install your Renu devices in? Why?

I will be installing my Renu devices in my oldest daughter's room. Her room is long overdue for a makeover, and one that best suits her age and interests is high on our priority list.

Which color(s) did you choose for the Renu devices? Why did you choose these particular colors?

I chose to use the White on White Renu devices. Though many of the colors to choose from are inspiring, I really wanted the crisp, fresh feeling that white provides. Against any color, white provides contrast that is very pleasing to the eye. Though we are keeping the paint color very light in the room by utilizing the existing lavender color, the white still provides a subtle contrast which will go a long way to provide the light, airy feel I try to convey in my home.

Do you plan on coordinating or contrasting the Renu devices with the walls/surroundings?

Overall, contrast is what I'm going after in using the White on White Renu devices.  I do plan to give the closet doors, window trim, & door trim a punch of brightness, also, by using a matching paint color inspired by the color of the Renu wallplates & switches.

What is your favorite room in your home to design? Why?

That's a pretty tough question to answer, but in thinking long & hard about it, I would have to say my living room is my favorite space to design in my home.  It's the room where everyone enjoys hanging out, so not only do I want it to be functional, it has to be super comfy & inviting.  Also, considering it is one of the first rooms guests see when entering our home, I really do want it to convey a welcoming & bright feeling.  It's taken me a long time to nail down a design that I'm completely happy with, but now that I finally have, I'm excited to start working on that area soon.  And, of course, I'll be documenting that transformation on my blog every step of the way!
