Last month, Leviton and alliance partners Berk-Tek and Arista Networks held a one-day data center event in San Jose, California. The event brought together IT directors and data center managers from around the region, many of whom manage some of the most advanced data centers in Silicon Valley. The gathering provided a great opportunity to discuss ways to take networks to the next level, whether through high-density, low-cost 10GBASE-T switches or migration plans for 40 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet.

Some of the main topics at the event included:

• Fat Tree and other emerging switch architectures (see my previous blog post on the rise of new switch architectures)
• Strategies for migrating to higher bandwidth fiber optic networks
• New cabling system solutions from Berk-Tek Leviton Technologies
• Cabling best practices to support new high-density Arista Networks switches

It was great to not only present at the event but hear from data center experts who represent a range of different companies. Collaborative events like this and our Leviton webinars can lead to some truly constructive conversations.
